Melissa Miller

Melissa Miller is the Director of the South Dakota Office of Tourism. She has been with the Office of Tourism for 15 years. She has always worked with the visitor and the industry, overseeing the Interstate Information Centers, Great Events campaign, Million Dollar Challenge program, hospitality program, Tribal Tourism, cooperative marketing programs and advertising marketing campaigns. She began her career with Tourism's Creative Division as the media buyer.

She manages a budget of $11.3 million. Melissa, along with her staff of 24, work to promote South Dakota as a vacation destination and to strengthen its economy. She and her staff constantly work to develop new ideas, unique promotions and effective marketing strategies. Since Melissa's time as Director, South Dakota's visitor spending has increased 21.6 million.

Miller is a native of Aberdeen, South Dakota. Melissa and her husband Aaron married in Custer State Park May, 2010 and reside in Pierre. Melissa and Aaron together now have four children, Matthew, Alyssa, Brooke and Cassidy.,
