Welcome to the Tourism and State Development website. Our agency works hard to promote South Dakota, both to our visitors and our residents.
Our office is made up of six divisions – Tourism, History, Arts, Housing, Tribal Relations and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. Each of these divisions plays an integral role in moving our state’s economy forward.
In 2003, Governor Mike Rounds and the people of South Dakota came together to develop the 2010 Initiative, a plan to increase tourism and business development in our state. We’ve made some great progress during the last several years and I invite you to click on the 2010 Initiative to see what has been accomplished and what we still plan to get done.
